What it does
Most messaging assumes people will read it eventually. A page is for when they need to know now. Ranger keeps the two apart, so a page stands out and a chat does not interrupt.
Page with one press
Keys for the things you say often, or your own words for anything else. Urgent pages only reach people who allowed them from you.
Know it was handled
Someone takes the page, and everyone sees who has it. They mark it done, or let it go for someone else.
Talk it through
Every contact and group has a conversation beside their page keys, so what happens next stays with what started it.
Private by design
Pages and messages are end-to-end encrypted: only the people you send them to can read them.
- You compare a code with each contactBefore you can page someone, you check a short code together, so you know it is really them.
- Sign in with a passkeyNo password to steal. If you lose your passkey, a recovery code gets you back in, and your old devices are cut off.
- Your keys stay on your deviceHeld by your phone or computer's own secure storage, with a recovery key only you keep.
- Alerts say nothingA locked screen shows that something arrived, never who sent it or what it says.
Getting Ranger
Ranger is in a private alpha. Everything is still being tested.
